Who We AreWe are a NO-KILL, non-profit rescue organization that is dedicated to the welfare of all animals. The HSAC is operated entirely by volunteers out of love for animals. We foster lost, abandoned and injured dogs and cats, giving our animal friends a chance at life, an opportunity to be loved and hopefully find a new and loving adopted family. We provide safe shelter, community education, medical treatment, healthy food, love and daily care for the animals while they wait for a family of their own.We also provide pet food for Meals on Wheels, work with the local Sheriff's dept on animal control, and support the Anson Co. Animal Cruelty Investigation Officer. We hope to start a Pet Safe program in the near future to help the pets of victims of domestic violence. We are now working to try and start a Pet Pantry program that would provide pet supplies to families during financial and other hard times. We have an application for adoption and a contract promising to take good care of the pet. Our fee is $100.00 and covers up to date vaccines and also covers to have the animal spayed or neutered when they reach 6 months of age, if not already altered at adoption time.("Old age means realizing you will never own all the dogs you wanted to." Joe Gores) Volunteer :: Foster Home ProgramWE NEED FOSTER HOMES, as well as volunteers for many projects. This can greatly increase our ability to help more animals and do more in the community.
